Testimonial - Mark Earle, Welsh Judo

What did you find has been the impact on you of going through the course - what do you plan to take into your day to day?

The biggest impact the course had on me was the importance of correctly including and executing good quality foundation movement skills. I have seen many chronic injuries develop in athletes in later stages of their judo careers and I recognise that developing movement skills and good technique will dramatically reduce the chances of this being a problem in the later stages of an athletes development.

What did you value most about the course? Anything that makes it different to other courses you’d considered?

I valued several things about the course, Firstly, I like the way it was delivered. It was clear that the course leaders were keen and motivated to help me through the course. They were available and responsive to support in answering questions and providing relevant information. I think this was probably the first time they had delivered this course so there were occasions where they would openly say that they would come back on some questions that I might have. The Foundations of S&C book was well structured and the way the assignments provided guided me through the book was very helpful and logical.

Would you recommend it to other coaches, if so why?

I would recommend  this course to other coaches, because I think it gives fundamental knowledge of strength and conditioning  to governing body coaches which allows conversations in the future with UK sport S&C appointed expert coaches, to talk on a higher level which ultimately has a greater impact on better delivery to the athletes.
