How does Sported Foundation’s work help Sport Wales to achieve an Active Nation?
As Wales’ largest network of local community sports groups tackling inequality for young people facing disadvantage, Sported empowers the local heroes running community sport groups to help their group survive so young people in their communities can thrive. Professional expertise, resources and operational support is provided to community groups by Sported.
Sported’s work in Wales focuses on the most deprived communities with over ⅓ of their groups based in the 20% most deprived communities in Wales. Not all young people have the same start in life and Sported use the benefits of community sport and physical activity to help them overcome barriers and fulfil their potential.
How can Sported Foundation support the wider network of partners in our united Vision for Sport?
Sported Foundation collaborate with a variety of other organisations to enable long term community development and positive change for young people in Wales. They currently work with StreetGames, Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales, and Welsh Boxing.
Through the Sported Network, there is access to our online platform full of resources and how to guides to help groups with topics such as fundraising, impact practice and business planning.
They would be keen to support NGBs and Regional Sports Partnerships to support the resilience and sustainability of their community sports groups, particularly those groups that support disadvantaged communities and marginalised groups.
