A total of 319 applications have been submitted for the £1million Place for Sport fund.
The total request for funding reached more than £15million for total project costs worth more than £20million.
Applications were submitted for projects in every local authority area in Wales and for 38 different sports.
A decision panel will take place in mid-July, with Sport Wales hoping to be in a position to inform applicants of decisions by early August.
