Governance & Leadership Framework Conference 2015

Following extensive consultation over the past 12-months the sport and recreation sector in Wales has lead on the development of the new framework after highlighting a need for improved governance and leadership.

The  framework is a modified version of the Sport and Recreation Alliance's Voluntary Code of Good Governance. It includes the '7 Principles of Good Governance' and introduces the importance of Board leadership behaviours in order to make a significant shift of governance standards within the Sector. The sector has also identified and committed to meeting "minimum expectations" contained within the Framework to help drive governance and leadership standards through to 2019 and beyond.

To support the launch of this new document, both Sport Wales and the Sport and Recreation Alliance have arranged a Governance & Leadership Framework Conference 2015 at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 21st April.

With contributions from Amanda Bennett (Fair Play Enterprises Limited), Anne Storey and Craig Hunter (Personnel Dynamics Limited), Lucy Faulkner (Lucy Faulkner Limited), Gemma Morgan (Leadership Specialist), National Governing Bodies of Sport in Wales, Young Ambassadors, Sport Wales, and the Alliance among others, the event provides the opportunity to challenge thinking, stretch our ambition and critically reflect on what we are doing.
