Mark Colbourne became one of the 'names of the Games' at the
London 2012 Paralympics after scooping three medals for
Getting GB off to a medal-winning start on Day 1 of the Games,
Colbourne raced to silver in the C1-C3 Kilo Time Trial; swiftly
followed by his first Paralympic gold medal and GB's first
gold in London in the C1 3km Pursuit.
Colbourne rounded-off his London 2012 Paralympic Games with
another silver in the C1 Time Trial on the road on Day 7 of the
Mark has certainly stamping his authority on the world
of Para Cycling. The former Sales Consultant is relatively new
to the sport. It was only in 2009 that he broke his back in a
Paragliding accident at Rhossili beach but he is already starting
to fill his trophy cabinet.
The 42-year-old Welshman linked up with the GB squad last year
and since then he has scooped a silver medal at the World Road
Championships and took his first ever Para-Cycling World
Championship Gold in his first international track competition,
where he also earned a silver in the 1km time trial.
